Crisis Intervention
Crisis Intervention (Management)
Our crisis intervention program consists of a number of different strategies and interventions to assist students during emotional, mental, physical, and behavioral distress or problems. Our methods are intended to reduce the intensity of a student's emotional, mental, physical, and behavioral reactions to a perceived crisis. Our goal is to help students undergoing a crisis event to learn how to cope with their elevated state of emotion and return themselves to a level of controlled functioning. Functioning may be improved by developing new coping skills and eliminating ineffective ways of coping, such as withdrawal, isolation, acting out, and inappropriate behavior. |
